This Recorder has been serviced by Mike Harris Sound Services and has a 3 Month guarantee from the date of purchase

Before you use the recorder check the transport lock is off, that's the half round knob by the meter, it is now in the off position, if it is rotated down, the lock is on and you cannot operate the recorder.

Above left is the control lever, push in to (Load) and up to lock in, to play the tape, but if you have a microphone or input lead plugged in the 6 pin connector ( just above the control lever) it is in the recording position and will record.

Pull out and up to lock the control lever to REWIND the tape, then at the top canter of the recorder is a rewind mechanism, press the flat bar that is across the top and the rewind arm will pop up, lift up the chrome pin, then holding the pin, wind the tape in a clockwise direction.

On the right hand side of the SN is a push button battery test, the voltage is indicated on the meter

The tape spools are held by a cross bar, rotate the bar until it lines up with the slot in the tape spool and lift off the tape spool

There is a man or auto speed control just to the right of the rewind handle. The TTA control is Tape Tension Adjustment (this is set)

This recorder is fitted with a auto record level control.

Above the left and right channel outputs that are two 3.5 mono jack plug sockets

With metal take-up spools and a roll of green long play tape and take-up spool with this recorder. And you can see the new pinch wheel

When the 2 Microphone / Line input 3 pin plug is fitted in the side of the SN, it is in the record mode, pushing in the control lever to ON, the recorder will run the tape, this recorder has preset level control built in, lace to tape around the tension roller as the arrows to the take up spool

From the 2 x 3.5 mono jack socket on the left side of the SN is an off tape output to monitor the recording, there is a delay from the direct input but you can monitor what you are recording OK

Unplugging the Microphone / Line input plug, puts the SN in the playback mode, rewind the tape and check the playback,

The machine has the following features: It is a stereo recorder, It has 2 line input and 2 line output lead to that can be to Nagra IV-S recorder or 3-pin XLR or RCA Phono

Above the 2 x 3 pin micro socket are the line or microphone input socket, the 5 pin is for the remote stop start recording and takes the SGXS or SGX pilot recording unit, the SGXS has the link plug to the remote stop start unit. The 2 screw holes ether side of the connectors are something to do with the JBR PS-1 units, when I find out I will let you know.

Above right: As you can see above the tape heads are in good condition, the two 3.5 jack outputs connect, to the DSP playback unit, or made up leads with DC blocking to other equipment

Inside the bottom case is a block diagram with connection information for accessories, and inside the lid are operating instructions, and you can see the 2 AA batteries that the recorder runs on,

lids and covers are all in good condition.

I found when I was servicing these stereo recorders that the EQ one track is the same as a mono recorder, for covert dialog recording but the other track the EQ is set up with about + 10 dB at about 10K, If you have a docking station you can adjust this, or I can take it off,
